South Street: A Day with my Boyfriend's would-be Doppelganger

Yesterday was the AmeriCorps Launch at the National Constitution Center.

I was already tired from the day before. A few colleagues and I participated in the 5 mile Making Strides for Breast Cancer walk around the Philadelphia Museum of Art. It was more fun than I expected. It turns out some of my colleagues are awesome outside of work and I'd love to hang out with them for hours. I can see some friendships forming already.

Anyway, I was already tired from all that walking. So, I had decided from the moment I'd left the house, the day was going to be horrible. I was half right.

The Negatives:
  • My ex-bf James showed up
  • My feet hurt like hell from walking more than 5 miles the day before
  • I was working on my day off, which meant I'd be busy until 25th.
The Positives:
  • The presentation for the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were both so graphic that you would've thought the speaker was a magician. It was that nice.
  • I had my entourage to protect me and keep my ex from seeing me. Mission accomplished, by the way.
  • We had beyond an amazing time after the Launch was over.
  • We went to the gallery and kept running into everyone we'd left more than 30 minutes earlier.
  • We hit up South St.
    • South Street is my favorite place in this city. Love Park is a close second.
    • The shops we went into would make your grandma blush.
    • I filled up on cookies  from the Bean Cafe and hugs from friends I love hanging out with.
    • And I feel like we all bonded in some way and created a ritual that we should look forward to every week
  • And our newest team member could be my boyfriend's doppelganger. This is what they have in common.
    • First Name
    • Body Type
    • Ethnicity
    • Way of thinking
    • Phrases...["That's what she said"]
    • Attitude...[As far as I can tell]
    • Hobbies
    • The area of the city they reside in
  • And their differences:
    • He loves anime/my boyfriend barely watches
    • That's all I can find right now actually...lol
Either way, I'm a bit attracted to him because of these similarities. It doesn't help that we're alike in a lot of ways. Here are some of the similarities and differences in the two of us.
  • Similiarities
    • We pay attention to the same things. [ Yesterday we were reading more than 60 bumper stickers aloud that were on a wall and kept reading the same ones]
    • We both love anime and a few other things I shouldn't mention, but the interests are definitely mutual.
    • We think alike. It sounds like a cult, but it isn't.
    • We can have an intelligent conversation about the most unintelligent subjects and make them sound like we're curing world hunger.
    • Our love of BACON!!!!
    • We believe we were separated at birth because of how alike we are. Ask him. Honestly, ask him. He'll tell you we were separated. And we always seem to say "Where have you been all my life?" at the same time. I think I found a "new" twin.
  • Differences
    • He's a guy. Never mind. I usually dress like one and act like one.
    • He has male parts and I don't.
    • That's about it.
So yeah. And I like holding his hand because his body heat is off the charts and I feel so cold all the time, even when I'm sweating, my sweat is cold.

This is the beginning of a beautiful friendship. My boyfriend and his girlfriend should meet. Maybe this feeling would be mutual between the four of us.
